Embarking on a new path

The act of cooking is magickal. Baking even more so. And the results, when done correctly, not only nourish your body, they nourish your soul.

Although I've been a kitchen witch for many years, I resolve that 2022 is going to be the year I actively work to increase my skills. Like all witchcraft, this will involve knowledge, discipline and focus.

For the next year, I plan to take a few cooking and baking classes from America's Test Kitchen. I'll be studying several thick texts and, of course, spending a lot of time practicing in the kitchen. On the side, I also hope to plant a new garden -- filled with both floral and edible items -- and experiment with herbal medicine so that I can put my new skills to use in promoting natural health.

My hope is that many experiments will succeed. I also accept that others may fail. Either way, the Walker-Weir household will be filled with even more tasty food this year.
